pretty Finnick {pretty, pretty Finnick}

Speaking of those Tumblr pages I could spend days scrolling through, Are You, Are You Coming To The Tree is one of them. Its superimposed stylings of Hunger Games stills is super cool. As if anything could make me even more excited for the movie this March.

And, BTW I'm officially supporting Armie Hammer for Finnick Odair. The people of the internets have begun throwing his name around for Catching Fire. At first I wasn't so sure. He looks much older than the Finnick Odair {a.k.a. the sexiest greatest character of the series} in my head. But then I read this:
"I've never admitted this before – sometimes I carry a rope to practice knots. I have the Knot Guide app on my phone. I even have a list of my favorite knots to tie. Bowline to tow things with, clinch knot for fishing, constrictor knot to bind things. Highwayman's hitch, San Diego jam knot..." - Armie Hammer in In Style Magazine
Are you freaking kidding me?? Suddenly, he is perfection. Someone give that man a trident!

a pretty {tumblr} Tuesday

I hate Tumblr. Tumblr makes it nearly impossible to find the original source to anything. How many damn Tumblr pages do I have to click {or scroll for hours} through to find that the "original source" was actually stolen from We Heart It... which was taken from a Tumblr page, and so on? Not to mention, they are a total time-suck. Get me on a good Tumblr page and I could scroll through that thing for days. Until I click on one of their posts, taking me to another Tumblr page where the time-sucking continues.

So. I started a Tumblr. Because, the internet wasn't sucking up enough of my time. And, it is reassuring to find people who like the same weird stuff I do.

But let's get to the real reason I jumped on the Tumblr wagon...

Animated gifs of Gaspard Ulliel. It's like he's looking right into my soul. Follow me, here.

{images via : prettymuchart.tumblr.com – try to find the original sources. Just try. I dare you.}

P.S. For those of you really interested in finding the original sources for these images {good for you!}, I find the "search by image" feature on Google really works. If you don't know how to use this feature, the tutorial can be found here.

pretty darling {spring style}

I'm trying not to get high hopes for a rapidly approaching spring. It's only February, after all. But the Spring 2012 collection of Katie Ermilio {photographed by the crazy talented Jamie Beck} perfectly encompasses the pastel prettiness of spring.

pretty awkward, pretty awesome {Thursday}

{pretty} awkward
So, I thought I found a sweet parking spot outside of the store the other day. I park there only to realize that I'm entirely too close to the car next to me. I made the decision to stay parked there and try to squeeze through the 10 inch gap between my car and the one next to me. I suck in my stomach, contort my body and manage to make it though the gap... all while 3 people are staring at me.

Falling asleep on the couch at my friend's boyfriend's brother's house. It was my first time really meeting said boyfriend. Do you think falling asleep an hour into the movie we were watching made a good impression?

Accidentally setting off the emergency alarm at McDonadls. Not only did I try to go through the wrong door, I then couldn't find the door I was supposed to go out of. So I walked around the entire building like an idiot, after having drawn as much attention to myself as possible.

Breaking four, yes four, plastic hangers while clothes shopping. I'm like the incredible hulk when it comes to hangers. Keep your plastic hangers away from me!

My motherly instinct kicked in yesterday when I saw a baby bump her head. I picked her up and carried her around doing that baby talk thing until she stopped crying. I guess it was awesome, only in my mind I kept thinking, "Whaaat? Where did this come from??"

{pretty} awesome
Shamrock shakes are back at McDonalds!

The truffle mac at Noodles.

Getting conversation hearts from my mom.

Getting flowers from my dad. P.S. For those of you who read yesterday's post, Grease was on TV last night! Coincidence? Yeah, probably.

Buying a sweater... for $1.19. Tax included. It was at a resale shop and it was 75% off.

Having a three hour long breakfast/chat session with my best friend. We talked about anything and everything as breakfast turned into lunch. And it was a great feeling.

Bon Iver winning Best New Artist at the Grammys and Justin Vernon giving a shout out to Eau Claire Wisconsin in his acceptance speech, yo! It's probably safe to say that that's the first time a city in Wisconsin has been "thanked" at the Grammys. Awesome.

Share your own awkward and awesome's in the comments!

pretty pins {and pink roses}

Here are some random Pinterest pretties to beautify your day. How was your Valentine's Day? Personally, I'm not a huge fan of Singles Awareness Day. But, I did get some pretty pink roses from my dad, leaving me to quote Frenchy from Grease, "the only man a girl can depend on is her daddy." Not really. And, I'm not sure where that came from... I haven't seen that movie in years. Anyhoo, whether you  spent the day with a lover, or just a loved one {or hell, just yourself, watching Glee in your sweatpants while eating the entire bag of conversation hearts you got from your mom... yep, sounds about right}, I hope you had a great one. BTW, that first picture? Who wants to move there with me?

P.S. The winner of the My Memories Digital Software giveaway {chosen through random.org} is... #5, Jenna! Congrats Jenna, I'll be contacting you soon.

a {pretty} weekly wrap-up

Pretty neat things I discovered this week:

How to Shoot Amazing Water Droplet Macro Photographs. – I will be trying this.

Love this love anklet. – So retro cute. I have a feeling I'll be rocking anklets all summer.

DIY wall art. – So easy! And fun! And I'm going to do this someday!

Kitchen Magic Twisty Whisk. – The prettiest whisks ever? I think that's a fair assumption. I want one of these... to hang on the wall of my kitchen and look pretty. I don't cook. Or bake. Whatever.

Before I Die. – It's like a community bucket list. Oh, and this one's mine. After all, if my MASH prediction to marry Jake Gyllenhaal is going to come true, I'm going to have to meet him first.

Rabid Madonna fan, Billy Eichner crashes the Supper Bowl. – Watch it. This guy's hilarious. "I don't care about the Giants, I'm here for Madonna! Gonna talk to the players about Madonna! Madonnaaaa!"

Doesn't this week's wrap-up look a little spring-like? Spring is right around the corner, right? And BTW, I'll be announcing the My Memories Digital Scrapbook Suite Giveaway winner on Monday. So there's still TIME TO ENTER!

a {pretty} weekly wrap-up

Pretty neat things I discovered this week:

Gilded business cards, DIY. – So easy! Why didn't I think of that?

How to peal a kiwi. – Again, so easy. I'm tempted to buy a kiwi this weekend just to try this.

Photographic silk scarves.

Double exposure by Pakayla Biehn. – Dreamy.

Glamping. – Glamourous camping. I could handle that.

More cool business cards. – Adorable, right? Plus, look! Baby llama! I don't know if it's a baby, but I just saw the musical Rock of Ages {for the 4th time} and now have baby llamas on the brain. Don't ask.

Speaking of 80's rock music {kind of}, Bon Jovi meets Bon Iver. – Bon Joviver.

Lastly, the new Hunger Games trailer. – Not as exciting as the first, but it confirms just how badly I want to see this.

Have a great weekend, friends!

pretty bows {before hoes}

currently crazy about...
There's something so perfectly pretty about a bow. Something softly romantic and just plain charming. Maybe it's the season {Valentine's Day is just weeks away, after all}, but I'm currently crazy about ribbons and bows. If it weren't for the risk of looking any younger than I already do {someone literally thought I was 10 years younger than I actually am the other day}, I'd totally tie a bow in my hair.
