pretty {sweet} save the dates

I've always thought Minted was pretty sweet. Their design challenges allow both professional and aspiring designers a chance to show the stationery world what they've got. However, I've never submitted a design...until now. Minted’s Seasonal Save the Date Challenge focused on save the date cards representing different seasons of the year. I submitted three summer designs and one winter one. Judging starts soon. Wish me luck! {via : minted.}

a {pretty} parade

I love a parade. And it isn't quite summer until you've been to one. Here are some pretty pictures from the parade I went to this weekend. Marching bands marched. Old men playing polka music threw string cheese into the crowd (this is Wisconsin). Summer has begun.

a pretty {wonderful} wonderland

In my opinion, Tim Burton is one of the most creative and artistic movie directors in the business. His visionary movies are original and inspired, and the first look at the world he has created for Alice in Wonderland seems to be no different. It doesn't open until 2010 but I'm already looking forward to it!
"and what is the use of a book," thought Alice, "without pictures or conversations?" That, my dear Alice, is why beautiful movies are made.

a pretty {new} line?

Perhaps I'm becoming inspired by my upcoming trip to the Big Apple. Maybe nothing will come of these, but I think they're a start to something...what do you think?

a pretty {nifty} gifty

If a picture can say a thousand words, than surely a picture book from Blurb can speak volumes. The above pictures are from a book I made for my aunt and (new) uncle in celebration of their big day. This book is just the beginning of what is sure to be a long and happy story...

pretty {blooming} good

Speaking of magnets {see yesterday's post} I'm in love with this cute and clever magnet packaging via goodbloom. Goodbloom is the work of self-taught, Etsy artist, Holly Bartos.

Her work is a little retro, a little whimsical, extremely happy, and of course...pretty.

getting {pretty} crafty

Here at Pretty {much} Art, we've recently discovered that our bookmarks can be used to make a pretty awesome set of magnets! By cutting the bookmarks into four squares, we can make a set of magnets that, when laid together, form a complete picture. Of course, this gives customers the option of buying the bookmark with the magnets; making a pretty cute (not to mention coordinating) gift! We know...you're excited too.

pretty {Snow & Graham} goodness

I've never been one to be too matchy-matchy. That's probably why all of my card sets on Etsy are assorted. So when I found these coordinates from Snow & Graham, I was stoked! Snow & Graham is arguably my favorite stationery design company, so of course I love all their products. But I especially love these note card sets. Two designs in one package. Perfect for those of us who can't seem to choose just one brilliant Snow & Graham design. Be sure to check out Snow & Graham's classic summer collection here.

a pretty {rainy} day

It's been a pretty rainy day here in Wisconsin. Not to mention cold! It's a good thing I found these amazing umbrellas from Umbrella Society. Their umbrellas are stylish and unique, further fueling my obsession for these practical fashion statements.
Check out their website for cute features like, The History of the Umbrella, and Umbrella Etiquette. And the sweetest part? A portion of all Umbrella Society profits this year will be donated toward The Orphanage Project in order to build an orphanage near the outskirts of New Delhi for the poor and desolate. Now that's pretty classy.

pretty {new} items

Check it out! There are new items in my shop: Pretty Coasters & Pretty Magnets. My mom put a lot of hard work into handcrafting my art into these coasters and magnets. They turned out great! I think it's pretty cool to have my artwork turn into something functional. And they make great gifts! More will be posted in my shop soon.
